Frequently Asked Questions
My Account
- I've applied to the network but I cannot log in
You may not yet be approved onto the network. We do advise that it may take up to a week for approvals to be processed, depending upon the volumes of applications to the network. If your application is awaiting review after this time, please contact our Partnerships team on partnerships@digitalwindow.com.
If you have had your network approval confirmation email but are still experiencing difficulties logging in please contact support@buy.at.
- How do I get approved onto programmes?
Once you have been approved onto the network you will have access to apply to as many merchant programmes as you wish. If you head to the "Programmes" section in the buy.at interface you will see the full list of programmes available for application. You can apply to a programme by clicking 'Apply' in the status. This will take you through to the full list of terms and conditions relating to the programme. Please ensure you read these thoroughly - you must accept these terms at the bottom of the page for your application to be processed.
Please be aware it may take up to a week to be approved onto a programme, depending upon the individual approvals process. There may also be further information or actions required for particular merchants, however these will be made clear in the terms and conditions.
Once your application has been processed you will receive an email informing you as to whether or not you have been accepted.
- I've been rejected from a programme/network
Unfortunately we are unable to give individual feedback to affiliates on reasons for rejection. There may be a number of reasons; from the suitability of the content of your site, to merchants being unable to work within specific affiliate sectors e.g. voucher codes, gambling, adult or incentive sites. If your site is not currently live, please provide information within the description to aid your application. If you have a test site / page it may be useful to include it.
If you feel you have been rejected in error or would like to discuss the decision further please contact support@buy.at and a member of the team will be happy to help.
- I can't remember my password/ log in details
You can request a password reminder to be sent to the email address registered to the account. This option can be found below the login boxes.
If you cannot remember or can no longer access the email address registered to the account, please contact support@buy.at. A member of the team will contact you and run through some security questions in order to reset your password and account details.
- How do I change account payment details?
Account payment details can be changed by logging into the buy.at interface and going to the payments settings section. From there, select "details" and select which payment method you would like to amend. Follow the simple questions until you have reached the final stage and select save.
- How do I set up another person on my account?
You can set up a sub-account through the settings section of your buy.at interface. You can also select the level of access to different sections of the account.
- How do I add another website to my account?
You can add another website to your account through the website tab in the settings section in your buy.at interface.
Please be aware that you are able to use this website for previously approved merchants as long as it complies with the terms and conditions for that individual programme - e.g. some merchants will not allow specific types of sites i.e. voucher code sites.
- Ticketmaster Affiliate Sign Up
There is a specific sign up process for the Ticketmaster programme. Please visit http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/affiliates to apply.
If you have been approved solely onto the Ticketmaster programme you will be unable to apply for any other programmes until you apply for the buy.at network. Please click here to submit your application.
- How do I close my account?
If you wish to close your affiliate account with us please email support@buy.at with a request for cancellation. Please be aware that once your account is closed you will no longer be able to sign into the network.
Payments
- How do I get paid?
Once you have received your first tracked sale, you will be prompted by a notice in your management area to enter your bank details. From here, you simply click on the link and follow the steps to populate your payment details. The required bank details will depend on the selected payment option. If you have any issues then please contact finance@buy.at.
- How long does it take for commission to be paid out?
Typically, commissions are paid out two months in arrears, i.e. approved August commission will be paid out in the October payment. Payments are deposited into affiliate's bank accounts on the 29th of the month. Should this fall on a weekend or bank holiday the earliest weekday will be used.
- I have a sale which hasn't tracked in the system
There could be a couple of different reasons why this may be.
Please first check the programme details to ensure that sales track in real-time for the merchant in question. A handful of programmes on the network work with a third party tracking solution and sales are sent through in batched reports, often the following day or week.
If the programme should track in real-time you might have experienced an 'untracked sale'. Unfortunately untracked sales are something that all affiliate marketing networks experience. They mostly occur when customers have cookies disabled, which is a facet of certain anti-spyware software blocking. Spyware itself and other issues such as pages not loading correctly within a customer's browser account for a very small percentage of all lost affiliate sales, however it is something that is unavoidable. You will need to contact the appropriate Account Manager about this sale or email support@buy.at so we can investigate it further.
- What if I live outside of the UK?
For affiliates operating outside of the UK, we offer an international payment option, which allows affiliates to select the currency that their commissions are paid in.
- What about VAT?
If an affiliate is UK VAT registered, then buy.at will include VAT on any commission payments made. Affiliates must enter a valid VAT number within the payments section of the management area. The VAT element of the payment will be shown on the self bill invoice.
Technical Support
- Where do I get banners from?
All gif, offer, flash banners, and text links for your approved merchants can be found within the content and creative section in your buy.at interface.
To use a banner or text link simply copy and paste the HTML code underneath and insert it into your website template.
All code automatically includes tracking links so they do not need to be amended.
All creatives are dynamic and will update automatically on your site when they are changed or updated by our merchants.
- How do I create deeplinks?
A deeplink allows you to link directly to a product page within a retailer site.
All buy.at affiliate links will be in the form of:
http://domain.at/AFFID
Where domain.at is unique per retailer.
AFFID is replaced by your own unique affiliate username.
To create a deeplink you simply append on the end of your affiliate link the DURL parameter (deeplink URL).
http://domain.at/AFFID?DURL=
eg). http://domain.at/AFFID?DURL=http://www.some-product-page.com
Alternatively you can create a deeplink using the Link Engine found in the content and creative section.
Please check the deeplinking instructions within individual programme descriptions / terms and conditions as deeplinking may not always be permitted.
- How do I create and LID (link ID) / append a unique tracking code?
To add your own link ID or tracking code to your buy.at affiliate link simply append the LID parameter (link ID).
This parameter must be in capitals and is type VARCHAR of length 64.
http://domain.at/AFFID?LID=
eg). http://domain.at/AFFID?LID=shoes
Please note not to include any characters in the LID that would cause the URL to break such as '&'.
Incorrect:
LID=coats&jackets
If you need to include an '&' you can simply URL encode it %26.
Correct:
LID=coats%26jackets
When adding LID and DURL please remember to check if there are any parameters already added to determine whether to use ? or &.
You may see banner links in the form of:
Eg). http://domain.at/AFFID?CTY=2&CID=1234
CTY = creative type
CID = creative IDYou do not need to worry about this, as it is for internal purposes.
If you wish to add a LID to this since there are 2 parameters already present CTY and CID you will use the '&LID'.
http://domain.at/AFFID?CTY=2&CID=1234&LID=something
